MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) — There are many new infrastructure improvements happening or planned for Mt. Juliet.
The city recently installed a new traffic signal in front of the entrance to the new Sprouts Farmers Market, and more are on the way.
Preconstruction work has officially concluded on a new traffic signal on Curd Road and North Mt. Juliet Road, but the improvements don't stop there.
The city will also be widening Curd Road, adding additional left and right turn lanes.
Mt. Juliet Public Works Director Matt White said the project will soon go out to bid; when that bid comes back within budget, construction work will begin.
That's when you'll start to see barrels along the roadway.
The city said both the signal and the road widening project have been needed for a long time; they're hoping to get started with construction in the first quarter of 2026.
Once begun, construction is estimated to take up to a year to complete.
