NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A teen that ran from a stolen vehicle and then later connected himself to a 2023 murder has been taken into custody, officials said.
According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, 19-year-old Brashawn Davis ran away from a stolen Dodge Challenger on Thursday, Aug. 7.
Police said four guns, meth and marijuana were found inside the vehicle, which was recovered from a home along Charlie Place.
During an interview with detectives, Davis allegedly implicated himself in a 2023 shooting, which led to the death of 27-year-old Christopher Harris.
Investigators said Harris was found with multiple gunshot wounds inside his vehicle along Buena Vista Pike on July 4, 2023. Witnesses reportedly told police that a group of young men approached Harris and about seven of them opened fire.
As soon as two days after the murder, police began arresting suspects. First, a 16-year-old was caught, followed by a 17-year-old and 23-year-old a few days later. Since the shooting, additional suspects, including a 16-year-old, 27-year-old and a 22-year-old, have been taken into custody.
Officials said Davis is being charged for the 2023 murder in juvenile court since he was 16 years old when the shooting occurred.
No additional information was immediately released.
