NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Metro Nashville Police Department has identified the man killed Thursday morning in a motorcycle crash.
According to an MNPD news release, 19-year-old Daniel Poole of Orlinda, Tennessee, was killed. The crash occurred in the 1500 block of Gallatin Pike North.
Investigators said a Honda Accord sideswiped Poole while he was riding his Harley-Davidson southbound on Gallatin Pike.
According to MNPD, the Honda driver said he was trying to cross the roadway to the Pep Boys when he struck Poole.
Police said after Poole was struck, he slid into the northbound lane of travel and was hit by two more vehicles. He was then taken to Skyline Medical Center where he died.
MNPD officials said none of the drivers involved displayed signs of impairment, and the cause of the crash "appears" to be the Honda driver's failure to yield.
