NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Metro Nashville police officers arrested a man wanted in Wilson County on Monday after he allegedly fled a traffic stop and caused a crash on Clarksville Pike.
According to a news release from the Metro Nashville Police Department, 43-year-old Cemal Wade, who is a convicted felon, was arrested.
MNPD officials said detectives with their Violent Crimes Division saw Wade driving a Nissan Maxima and recognized him due to his several outstanding warrants in Wilson County.
Police said the vehicle was disabled but drove through the intersection of Clarksville Pike and Kings Lane, which led to the Maxima crashing into two other vehicles.
According to the MNPD, the crash resulted in Wade being taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Occupants of the other vehicles also suffered minor injuries.
Detectives found cocaine, fentanyl, marijuana and hydrocodone in the Maxima, authorities said.
Wade, who remains in the hospital, will face the following charges upon his release: evading arrest, aggravated reckless driving, driving on a revoked license and multiple counts of drug possession.
