NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man wanted for attempted murder was critically injured Monday morning after exchanging gunfire with officers near The Gulch area, officials said.

According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, the incident took place on the Division Street Bridge.

Officials said the suspect, who was armed with a semi-automatic pistol, was taken to a local hospital with critical injuries.

Meanwhile, an MNPD officer was reportedly grazed on the leg.

No additional details about the incident were immediately released.
