NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Metro Nashville Police Department has launched an investigation after a woman was shot behind a softball field Wednesday afternoon.

Metro Dispatch said that the call first came in shortly after 6:30 p.m. from the 800 block of Old Hickory Boulevard W.

Officers on the scene told News 2 that one woman sustained non life-threatening injuries after she was shot on a pathway behind the softball park. Police on scene did not know the age of the victim.

One person has been taken into custody, authorities on the scene told News 2. Police are still trying to learn more about what happened.
