NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Metro Nashville Police Department announced Friday night that LaGarrion Blacksmith has been returned to Nashville from Atlanta.
Blacksmith, 36, was wanted in connection with a deadly February 2023 shooting. He was arrested in Atlanta on June 10.
In a press release, MNPD officials said that coordination between the Atlanta Police Department and detectives with the MNPD’s TITANS unit helped lead to the arrest of Blacksmith. He had been charged with criminal homicide, attempted criminal homicide and being a felon in possession of a weapon in October 2023.
Blacksmith’s charges stem from alleged involvement in the fatal shooting of 35-year-old Chancellor Eddins outside a Dickerson Pike bar. The MNPD said that Eddins was found outside the bar with fatal gunshot wounds after shots were fired when he left the lounge.
A friend of Eddins was also struck by gunfire. An investigation revealed that Eddins and his friend got into a verbal altercation with Blacksmith before the shooting, police said.
He has been on the MNPD’s list of “Most Wanted” fugitives multiple times since November 2023.
