NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A Mississippi teenager is accused of vehicular homicide among other charges after a deadly crash Wednesday afternoon on Brick Church Pike.

According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, 18-year-old Joshua McNeal was driving a Ram 1500 pickup truck northbound at a high speed when he tried passing vehicles in the center of a two-way left-turn lane.

According to MNPD, McNeal swerved to avoid hitting another vehicle and entered oncoming southbound traffic before losing control of the truck, which led to a head-on collision with the Honda Civic.

The 20-year-old Honda driver was taken to TriStar Skyline Medical Center where he died. Police said they are currently working to identify his family.

Police said McNeal was also taken to TriStar Skyline Medical Center before being booked on the following charges: vehicular homicide by reckless conduct, reckless endangerment with a motor vehicle and three counts of aggravated assault.

Two passengers riding with McNeal suffered minor injuries and were taken to nearby hospitals, according to MNPD.

A Toyota Camry was also hit by one of the vehicles during the collision, but the Camry driver was not injured, police said.

Authorities said there were no signs of impairment among any of the drivers involved.

No additional information was immediately released.
