NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) -- An investigation is underway following the death of an inmate at the Nashville-Davidson County Sheriff's Office Male Correctional Development Center Wednesday evening.
Law enforcement at the facility responded to a report of an unresponsive inmate at approximately 5:50 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, according to the sheriff's office.
Authorities said they immediately started performing CPR and notified the Nashville Fire Department, but the inmate was later pronounced dead at the scene. Officials are withholding the individual's identity until his family is notified.
The Metro Nashville Police Department is investigating this incident. No additional details have been released.
