MILLERSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A police officer has been terminated for inappropriate conduct, according to the Millersville Police Department.
According to an MPD news release, the police officer was relieved of his duties on Monday, June 23. He'd been with the police department for about a year and a half; however, police conducted an internal investigation and determined that he'd "made inappropriate sexual comments to a female resident" while on duty on Sunday, June 22.
According to the MPD, she filed a formal complaint that same day, and the internal investigation had begun. MPD officials interviewed the officer, and he was later fired, the release said.
MPD has notified the Tennessee Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission of the incident, and the decertification process is underway, according to the release.

“The action of this one officer does not reflect the hard work and dedication of other employees of the Millersville Police Department,” Millersville Police Chief Stephen Hale said. “We are committed to integrity, service, commitment, quality, and respect of all residents of the City of Millersville.”
MPD officials said the Sumner County District Attorney's Office has requested that the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation conduct an independent investigation.
