NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Metro Nashville Police Department suspects foul play after recovering a body from the Cumberland River in Hermitage Wednesday afternoon.
The MNPD said that at about 3:30 p.m., a boater spotted a floating body in the river and called authorities near Springhouse Lane. The body, identified by an MNPD spokesperson only as a man, was recovered from the river near the 2400 block of McGavock Pike.
A spokesperson for the MNPD told News 2 that the body appeared to have been in the water for some time and foul play is suspected at this time. Detectives with the MNPD's Hermitage precinct are working the case.
