Description
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Rain and thunderstorms will be returning to Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky this week. This is great for drought conditions, but it won't come without a low threat of strong thunderstorms.
The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Marginal Risk (Level 1/5) for severe thunderstorms on Monday and Tuesday. The risk includes most of News 2's viewing area.
Although it's the lowest level, it still needs to be taken seriously because it only takes one storm to cause damage.
The main threat with these storms is damaging wind gusts. Within the strongest thunderstorms on Monday and Tuesday, wind gusts over 60 mph will be possible.

Currently, the timing of the strongest thunderstorms will be in the afternoon. Between 12 p.m. and 8 p.m. is when you will need to keep an eye on the skies, both Monday and Tuesday.

Heavy rain and thunderstorms are likely on Wednesday and Thursday, but it's too early to know if those could be strong enough to cause damage.
