NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — With spring in swing and summer on its way, it's that time of year — farmers markets are opening up all across Middle Tennessee.
Some farmers markets in the area stay open all year, while other markets in Middle Tennessee operate seasonally. Below is a non-exhaustive list of farmers markets you can check out:
Nashville
The Nashville Farmers Market at 900 Rosa L. Parks Boulevard has market staff on site every day of the week. Between March 1 and October 31, outdoor arm sheds are open from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. every Friday through Sunday. From Monday through Thursday, hours vary by vendor.
The Growing Together Farmers Market will celebrate its opening day from 9 a.m. until noon. The farm is located behind Christ Lutheran Church at 299 Haywood Lane and will be open every Saturday through November 22. The Nashville Food Project helps operate this market and the organization's Chief Program Officer previously told News 2 that this market would accept SNAP benefits.
The 12 South Farmers Market will be open every Tuesday from May through October in Sevier Park from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.
The Amqui Station Farmers Market at 303 Madison Street will be open every Sunday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. starting May 4 and continuing through October 26. This farmers market features live music; if you would like to perform at the market, follow this link.
Every Saturday from April through December, you can visit the Richland Park Farmers Market from 9 a.m. until noon at 4711 Charlotte Avenue. The market is rain or shine.
The East Nashville Farmers Market — located at 511 Woodland Street — is open every Tuesday from April through December this year. Between April 8 and October 28, the market will operate from 3:30 until 6:30 p.m. Between November 4 and December 16, the market will be open from 3:30 until 6 p.m.
The Donelson Farmers Market kicks off Friday at 4 p.m. and will operate through 7 p.m. You can visit the market at Donelson Station 2705 Lebanon Pike every Friday through October. You can buy tokens at the information booth with your EBT or SNAP card to spend on some approved goods at the market.
Cheatham County
Enjoy homegrown produce and handcrafted items at the Ashland City Farmers and Artisans Market. Opening day will take place on Saturday, May 10 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Riverbluff Park.
Coffee County
Local honey, homemade pies, fresh cut flowers and seasonal produce are just a few of the items that will be available at opening day at the Coffee County Farmers Market. According to market organizers, the market will be open every Saturday, starting May 5, from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 210 E. Fort Street.
Maury County
The Columbia Farmers Market is open year-round on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. until noon. However, the market's website said that many vendors are only present during the main season from May through October with Saturdays as the primary day for vendors. You can visit the market at the Riverwalk Park Pavilion at 102 Riverside Drive in Columbia.
Robertson County
The Robertson County Farmers' Market is a few weeks away from opening day on Saturday, May 10 at Robertson County Fairgrounds. Vegetables, flowers, milk and more will all be available, according to market's Facebook page.
Rutherford County
Seasonal fruits and vegetables, eggs, meats, and baked goods will be available once the Rutherford County Farmers' Market opens on May 9 at the Community Center at the Lane Agri-Park in Murfreesboro. The market operates from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesdays and Fridays.
The Smyrna Depot Farmers Market is scheduled to open at the Historic Train Depot on Front Street on Saturday, May 17. Event organizers said the market will occur every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
From 8 a.m. until noon, you can visit the La Vergne Farmers Market at 5093 Murfreesboro Road. The market is open every Saturday from May through September.
This year, the Murfreesboro Saturday Market is open from May through October around the historic Rutherford County Courthouse. You can find everything from local produce to locally-raised pork, beef and poultry from 8 a.m. to noon.
Sumner County
Gallatin’s Farmers Market will be held every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. starting May 3. The market is located across the from Gallatin Fire Department at 160 W. Franklin Street. Some of the products sold at the market include fresh eggs, gourmet popcorn, vegan soaps, homemade candles and much more.
Williamson County
The Franklin Farmers Market is open every Saturday behind the Factory from 9 a.m. until noon. The address for the Factory at Franklin is 230 Franklin Road, Franklin, TN 37064.
The Hidden Gem Farmers Market happens every Saturday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Hiden Gem Farm in Spring Hill, The address for the farm is 863 Old Military Road.
Wilson County
The Mt. Juliet Farmers Market will be open every Saturday from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Charlie Daniels Park. The address for Charlie Daniels Park is 1075 Charlie Daniels Parkway.
The Lebanon Farmers' Market is open from Monday through Saturday from March through December from 5 a.m. until dark — no later than 7:30 p.m. You can find everything from produce to eggs, cheese and more at 143 S Maple Street in Lebanon.
