Description
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Detectives with the Metro Nashville Police Department's Specialized Investigations Division and officers with the La Vergne Police Department arrested a La Vergne woman in connection with the February overdose death of a Nashville man.
On February 8, 30-year-old Carson Gregg was found dead inside his New Hope Meadow Road home in Hermitage. The MNPD said the Medical Examiner's Office ruled that the cause of death was fentanyl toxicity.
Police added that a follow-up investigation by the Neighborhood Safety component of SID led to evidence showing that 41-year-old Tonya Furness met with Gregg in the parking lot of a Nashville market on the prior afternoon and sold him drugs allegedly laced with fentanyl.
Furness has been charged with second-degree murder and delivering a controlled substance. Her bond has been set at $100,000.
The MNPD added that if you or someone you know needs help with an addiction, you can call the Community Overdose Response Team for help at 615-687-1701.
