LA VERGNE, Tenn. (WKRN) — La Vergne police conducted a traffic stop Sunday morning and ended up arresting two suspects for a drug-related charge.
The La Vergne Police Department said in a social media post that a black Dodge Challenger had allegedly been going 65 miles per hour in a residential zone with a speed limit of 30 miles per hour. During the course of the traffic stop, an officer reportedly smelled marijuana.

A probable cause search yielded 137 grams of marijuana distributed across 14 different bags, 22 cartridges of THC and five grams of "a white powdery substance consistent with cocaine," police said. No one in the vehicle claimed ownership of the drugs, authorities added.
Both suspects were charged with possession with indent to sell or distribute Schedule II and Schedule VI narcotics. One suspect also faces an additional reckless driving charge, the LVPD added.
