LEBANON, Tenn. (WKRN) — A Wilson County farmer is still cleaning up after a tornado tore through his property. He lost several animals, expensive equipment, and buildings.

Off Sparta Pike in Lebanon, Steven George and his family have lived on the Seven Cedars Farm for almost 10 years.

“It was a serious storm...it was pretty devastating,” said George, Owner of Seven Cedars Farm and Butcher Block.

Nearly two weeks ago, a tornado touched down right on their property. “It pinpointed right on top of us. From one end of this driveway to another, it stripped right through here,” George said.

The storm took out several buildings, expensive equipment, dozens of trees, and several animals, and cost about $2 million in damages. “Our main barn was right here, where we already cleaned all the debris off.”

George is still cleaning up, but said it was the day of the storm that his community showed up on his doorstep. “Friends, people from church, life groups, small groups, it was amazing how quickly they showed up. The small town has a quick way of getting word around."

And while the farm was destroyed, he was able to keep the shop, Seven Cedars Butcher Block, open on the Lebanon Square. “We produce everything here for the square, all the beef, pork, and lamb."

However, he said it will take a couple of years to rebuild the life he has worked so hard for.

“I tell everybody we’ve been on this property for nine years, and I tell everyone it only took nine seconds to undo everything I've been working on for the last nine years,” George said.
