Human remains found in Shelbyville identified

SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) -- More than a month after human remains were discovered in Shelbyville, authorities released the person's identity.
According to the Shelbyville Police Department, the remains were found in a wooded area off South Cannon Boulevard on July 1.
On Wednesday, Aug. 13, officials announced the remains had been identified as 53-year-old Thomas Wayne Garner Jr., originally from Pulaski.
If you've had contact with Garner any time after January, or if you have any information that could help with this investigation, you're asked to call Detective Brandi Merlo at 931-684-5811.
No additional details have been released about this case.
