SPRINGFIELD, Tenn. (WKRN) — Springfield authorities are investigating after human remains were discovered Friday in a creek.
In a press release, officials said a leg was found at approximately 12:35 p.m. in the creek near North Main Street.
The Springfield Medical Examiner's Office confirmed the remains are human. It will now be handed over to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation for further DNA analysis.
No additional information was immediately released. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Springfield Police Department at 615-384-8422.
