NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) -- First responders battled a blaze at an East Nashville home Sunday evening.
News 2 learned about the fire shortly after 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 10. During our newscast, an eagle-eyed viewer noticed black smoke off in the distance on our Bridgestone Arena camera. Just minutes later, a News 2 employee happened to pass by the scene of the house fire causing that smoke.

The Nashville Fire Department confirmed the blaze broke out in the 600 block of Shelby Avenue around 5:30 p.m. Crews reportedly saw heavy smoke when they arrived at the scene, but nobody was home at the time.
First responders were able to extinguish the fire and begin the salvage and overhaul phase less than an hour after the blaze started, according to officials.
NFD said no injuries were reported from this incident. An investigator has been called to the scene to determine the cause of the fire.
No additional details have been released about Sunday evening's house fire.
