NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) -- The Federal Aviation Administration posted a ground delay for incoming flights to Nashville International Airport Saturday, with officials citing an air traffic control staffing shortage.
BNA announced at 2:24 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8 that the FAA had issued a ground stop because of the staffing shortage.
Shortly afterward, the active airport event description for BNA was updated on the FAA's website, switching from a ground stop to a ground delay, which will be implemented from 2:36 p.m. to 7:59 p.m.
According to the FAA, departures to BNA are delayed an average of 63 minutes but a maximum of 124 minutes.
BNA encourages travelers to monitor the status of their flights and contact their airlines for updates.
