NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Middle Tennessee is gearing up for a big Fourth of July weekend.
There will be plenty to do, including parades in a handful of communities.
Parades are a classic way to celebrate Independence Day, and some in Middle Tennessee have been going on for years. Here are some happening on July 4.
Spring Hill's Well Outreach is hosting a three-in-one celebration that includes a 5k race, color foam run and a bike and stroller parade.
The 5k starts at 7 a.m., and the parade starts at 9 a.m.
Hartsville is hosting a parade of its own, complete with big trucks, horses, and antique cars.
That starts at 10 a.m. on McMurry Boulevard.
Over in East Nashville, a Fourth of July staple, the Music City Hot Chicken Festival returns, kicking off with a fire truck parade at 10:30 a.m. in East Park.
Of course, there's also plenty of fireworks shows. We have a list of events happening near you.
