Video from recent coverage: Metro Council approves land deal for Dolly Parton's SongTeller Hotel
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) -- Tennessee icon Dolly Parton turned to social media Sunday to announce the postponement of her upcoming concerts in Las Vegas, saying she's been dealing with some "health challenges" and her doctors told her she needs to have a few procedures.
"As I joked with them, it must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up, although it's not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon!" Parton said in a statement released on Sunday, Sept. 28.
According to Parton's post, given the situation, she won't be able to rehearse and put together the show she wants her fans to see.
"You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you. While I'll still be able to work on all of my projects from here in Nashville, I just need a little time to get show ready, as they say," the musician wrote. "And don't worry about me quittin' the business because God hasn't said anything about stopping yet. But, I believe He is telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures with all of you. I love you and thank you for understanding."
The post included a list of dates for "Dolly: Live in Las Vegas" that have been pushed from this December to next September:
- Thursday, Dec. 4 to Thursday, Sept. 17, 2026
- Saturday, Dec. 6 to Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026
- Sunday, Dec. 7 to Sunday, Sept. 20, 2026
- Wednesday, Dec. 10 to Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2026
- Friday, Dec. 12 to Friday, Sept. 25, 2026
- Saturday, Dec. 13 to Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026
Per the statement, tickets will be valid for the new dates, refunds will be available, and ticket purchasers will receive more instructions via email.
This news comes less than two weeks after Parton was absent from the event announcing Dollywood's new attraction, "Night Flight Expedition." Dollywood President Eugene Naughton shared a video with the crowd, allowing the park's namesake to address the situation.
“I had a little problem, I had a kidney stone that was causing me a lot of problems, turned out [it had] given me an infection, and the doctor said, ‘You don’t need to be travelling right this minute, so you need a few days to get better,’ so he suggested I not go to Dollywood today, but I’m there with you in spirit,” Parton said in the video aired at the Sept. 17 event.
According to Parton's website, the limited-run engagement in Las Vegas was set to have six shows at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace from Dec. 4 through Dec. 15. This "hit-driven concert event" would have been Parton's first extended run in 32 years, weaving together seven decades of classic hits and fan favorites, per the site.
