MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) — The City of Mt. Juliet issued an official proclamation honoring former News 2 meteorologist Davis Nolan for his decades of service to Middle Tennessee.
Mt. Juliet Mayor James Maness signed a proclamation this month recognizing Nolan's 44 years of service. In a Facebook post, the city called Nolan "a trusted voice, a down-to-earth neighbor, and someone we are proud to have represent Mt. Juliet as his home."

Nolan officially announced his retirement from the station in July and his last day was Aug. 22. He arrived at WKRN — then WNGE — in Nov. 1981, and the proclamation recognizes his membership in the Mt. Juliet community since 1995.
"Throughout his career, Davis Nolan has become a trusted voice of accuracy and calm during severe weather, tracking storms for hours on air and providing clear, dependable forecasts that have guided countless families to safety, all while taking pride in delivering reliable, science-based forecasts to his community," the proclamation reads, in part.
The proclamation also declared the date of signature, Sept. 8, 2025, as "Davis Nolan Day." It's an extension of the city's "deepest gratitude for his dedication, professionalism, and legacy of excellence in broadcast meteorology."
