Description

LA VERGNE, Tenn. (WKRN) — La Vergne is hosting a free electronics recycling day for old and unwanted electronics.

City eWaste is partnering with the City of La Vergne and Vice Mayor Steve Noe to bring this free event to the community. The goal of the event is to give La Vergne residents a chance to securely and responsibly recycle their electronics for free.

Residents are encouraged to bring unwanted electronics with a battery or a cord. Anyone can drop off items like laptops, computers, tablets, hard drives, phones, video game systems, TVs, small household appliances, wires/cables and more.

Franklin-based company City eWaste aims to make electronics recycling simple for households and businesses with convenient drop-offs, pickups, and municipal partnerships. City eWaste leaders said they hope to change the mindset of Tennesseans who see old electronics as clutter that often ends up in a landfill, and show them that it can be a resource and opportunity. They believe recycling should be easily accessible to residents, and this helps make it easier for people to do the right thing for the environment.

Surrounding cities are also invited to come and take part in the recycling event.
