NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — School is just around the corner for Metro Nashville students, and several organizations and individuals are helping parents ease their student's transition back to the classroom.

Starting Thursday, July 24, schools across Nashville will have back-to-school bashes filled with plenty of giveaways for school supplies and backpacks for students heading back to school.

Here are some of the giveaways happening around Nasvhille:

Thursday, July 24

  • Schools in the Hillsboro cluster can go to Hillsboro High School from 4-6 p.m. for the first big back-to-school bash

Friday, July 25

  • Join the Nashville Fire Department for their BLAZE mentoring backpack giveaway from 1-4 p.m. at their headquaters at 63 Hermitage Avenue. Students must be present.

Saturday, July 26

  • From 10 a.m. to noon, the Hunters Lane cluster will have its back-to-school bash at Hunters Lane High School
  • The Stratford cluster will host its back-to-school bash at Stratford STEM Upper from 9 a.m. to noon
  • Metro CM Jeff Eslick is sponsoring a backpack giveaway in Ole Hickory at Temple Baptist Church from 10 a.m. to noon. No registration is required; the giveaway is first-come, first-served. Students must be present to receive
  • Southeast Community Day at Mill Ridge Park in Antioch will include a backpack giveaway from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 6-10 p.m.

Sunday, July 27

  • The Overton cluster of schools will have its back-to-school bash at the Nashville Zoo at Grassmere from 6-8 p.m.

Thursday, July 31

  • Next week will see the Glencliff cluster back-to-school bash on Thursday, July 31 from 4:30-7 p.m. at Glencliff High School

Saturday, Aug. 2

  • McGavock High School will host the McGavock cluster back-to-school bash from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 2
  • The Maplewood cluster will have their bash at Maplewood High School from 9-11:30 a.m.
  • From 9 a.m. to noon the Pearl-Cohn cluster will have their back-to-school bash at Hadley Park

Friday, Aug. 8

  • The last back-to-school bash for a cluster is James Lawson, which will see the bash at James Lawson High School from 5-7:30 p.m.
