MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) — Authorities have apprehended two murder suspects after a stolen vehicle was found abandoned in a Mt. Juliet neighborhood Monday morning.
According to the Mt. Juliet Police Department, the vehicle, which was stolen at gunpoint in Kentucky, was found along Syler Driver in the Beckwith Crossing neighborhood on Monday, Sept. 8, following a county pursuit.
Officials said the suspects, a man and woman, fled the area before officers arrived, adding that they had a large dog with them.
Just before 11 a.m., Mt. Juliet police announced that one of the suspects was apprehended in the 300 block of Collier Road. Minutes later, at 11:14 a.m., a female suspect was taken into custody, per authorities.
Both suspects reportedly have active warrants out of Shelby County, Kentucky, for murder. However, there is no word on their identities or the charges they face.
"We are grateful for our officers' strategic response, advanced technology, and support from partner agencies that led to their quick capture," wrote MJPD in a social media post about the incident.
No additional information was immediately released.
