Description
MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) — A zebra who escaped from its owners Saturday remains at large in Rutherford County.
The owners brought the zebra home Friday night but reported it missing Saturday.
According to the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office, the zebra scampered through a subdivision on Epps Mill road near Rankin Drive and Aldridge Drive and Cliffside Drive before entering Interstate 24 near the Buchanan Road exit.
Deputies had to close portions of I-24 Saturday because the animal was running through traffic on both sides of the highway.
The lanes reopened after the zebra disappeared in the woods.
Anyone who spots the zebra is asked to call the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office at 615-898-7770.
Multiple people shared photos and videos on social media after seeing the zebra in Murfreesboro and Rutherford County, as well as numerous memes of the zebra promoting businesses and doing various activities in the area. If you captured the zebra on camera, you can send any pictures or clips to [email protected].
