NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) -- Detectives are investigating a shooting in Nashville's Napier area late Saturday night that resulted in a woman's death.
The incident took place around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 30 in the 80 block of Fain Street, officials said.
According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, the investigation indicates 50-year-old Shereca M. Waters was shot by a woman during an argument that turned physical. The shooter allegedly fled the scene before officers arrived.
Law enforcement said they provided emergency care to Waters, who was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She reportedly died shortly after 3 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 31.
Authorities announced Sunday afternoon that detectives from MNPD's Homicide Unit are pursuing active leads in the case.
No additional details have been released about the circumstances surrounding Saturday night's shooting.
