NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Dust off your boots, Music City! National Line Dancing Week is taking over Nashville from Sept. 8 through 13.
Whether you are a seasoned dancer or a curious beginner, Line Dancing Week is the perfect opportunity to learn something new, meet new people, and have some fun in Music City. If you can't squeeze in a dance by next Saturday, don't worry! Most of the establishments listed below host line dancing classes year-round.
Category 10 holds free line dancing lessons on its first floor almost daily. The lessons are open to all skill levels, and all ages are welcome to join until 8 p.m. Find exact times at category10.com/line-dancing.
Church Street Park has free line dancing classes on select Saturdays, including one during National Line Dancing Week. Stop by the park on Sept. 13 at 9:30 a.m. for an hourlong lesson taught by a Downtown YMCA instructor. For more information visit nashvilledowntown.com.
Nashville Dance Fest will be at the Nashville Palace on Sept. 5 to 7. The festival includes a variety of music performances, competition and dance workshops with a different theme each day.
Ole Red on Lower Broadway hosts ticketed group line dancing lessons on its third floor every Friday and Saturday. Each class is 30 minutes long and costs $30 per person. Find tickets at olered.com/line-dancing.
Catch a Standard Western line dancing class at the Nashville Palace on various nights during National Line Dancing Week. World line dance champion George Blick teaches a three-hour class for all ages and skill levels, ending with an open dance hour. See the full schedule at standard-western.com.
