NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A beloved convenience store chain is breaking ground on two new locations in Middle Tennessee — the first in the state.
Wawa, a convenience store chain with more than 1,100 locations, will break ground on two new Middle Tennessee locations next month. One location will be on Ringgold Drive in Clarksville, and the other location will be on Veterans Parkway in Murfreesboro.
"Whenever we enter a new market, we want to get to know our new communities long before our doors open,” Wawa President Brian Schaller said. “During our Community Partnership event and Groundbreakings, we will provide an update on this phase of our Tennessee expansion and have the chance to meet many of our new friends and neighbors. We are excited to share the Wawa story, plans for growth in Tennessee, and our commitment to partnering with and supporting local nonprofit organizations that make a difference in their local communities.”
Between Aug. 12 and Aug. 13, the chain will host three separate events to break ground on the sites and a community partnership event.
Wawa's Community Partnership Day, which will be at Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee, will serve as an opportunity for Wawa leaders to share details about continued expansion in Middle Tennessee as well as details on expected timeframes, job growth and more. Attendees will also get to sample Wawa food.
At 3 p.m. on Aug. 12, other Wawa leaders will break ground at the Murfreesboro location and unveil the "Coming Soon" sign. The groundbreaking and unveiling for the Clarksville location will take place at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 13.
The company added that more locations would be announced next month.
