CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) -- A man wanted in Knoxville for multiple charges, including kidnapping, was taken into custody in Clarksville Wednesday.
According to the U.S. Marshals Service, a warrant was issued in Knox County on June 9, charging 42-year-old Vance R. Dodson with two counts of especially aggravated kidnapping and one count of aggravated assault in connection with a Knoxville incident from June 5.
The Knoxville Police Department asked the USMS for help finding and apprehending Dodson, officials said.
The USMS said its Middle Tennessee Task Force, working on a collateral lead from authorities in Knoxville, tracked down Dodson on E Street in Clarksville on Wednesday, June 18. Law enforcement reportedly arrested Dodson without incident and took him to the Montgomery County Jail, where he'll be held for the Knoxville Police Department.
"The Clarksville Police Department provided crucial assistance which led to the apprehension of Dodson," the USMS stated in a release. "The U.S. Marshals Service, working with our state and local partners, is committed to the relentless pursuit of violent offenders to ensure our communities are safer places for all."
