NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) -- Two students at H.G. Hill Middle School are facing charges after an administrator became aware of a text thread that allegedly featured threats against specific students, including a "kill list."
According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, there was a meme of what one victim would look like when a gun was pointed at him, along with other threatening images.
Authorities said the two 12-year-old girls are charged in Juvenile Court with making threats of mass violence and false reporting.
Law enforcement reported that Mobile Crisis would be contacted and offered to everyone involved, including the suspects.
"Threats against schools, special events and businesses are taken very seriously by the MNPD," officials said in a statement on Friday, May 16. "Those responsible, once identified, will be prosecuted."
This news comes just one day after police announced another 12-year-old was charged with making a threat of mass violence against Henry Maxwell Elementary School. He was reportedly in a group chat with 14 other students when he said he was going to “come back for revenge” and sent a photo of a handgun to the group.
Authorities have not given any indication that these two incidents are related or shared any additional details about the cases.
