SPRINGFIELD, Tenn. (WKRN) — Inside Doc’s Architectural Salvation, wonders cover the walls from floor to ceiling.

“I just love coming to work," explained owner, Doc Keys.

Keys opened his architectural salvage and antiques store in Springfield 13 years ago. His 38,000 square foot warehouse sits on East 9th Avenue, but his influence is international.

“We’ve sent stuff to Norway, Japan, Dubai," said Keys. "People find us on the internet and reach out and let us know what they need and we hopefully find it.”

The collection is curated by many who scour the country for finds.

“I have a lot of ‘pickers’ that’ll call me and say, ‘Hey Doc, I’ve got this'," said Keys.

His clients include designers, architects and those building their forever homes.

“I sell a lot of built-ins and I sell a lot of lighting," said Keys.

He also works with set dressers to design the scenes you see onscreen. You may spot some of his pieces in the upcoming ABC drama, 9-1-1: Nashville.

Among all the items, doors are a bestseller for Keys. He credits the craftmanship.

“You can come here and get a door that just speaks to you...People took pride in what they did," said Keys. "A new door will last a few years, and an old door will last hundreds of years.”

He has pieces from turning points in Nashville's history, including church pews from the East End United Methodist Church, which was destroyed by a tornado in 2020.

Stained glass, chandeliers, mirrors... you name it and Keys has it.

Surrounded by a faithful team, Keys is on a mission to keep craftmanship alive.

And even with 38,000 square feet to work with, his passion cannot be contained.

“I ran out of space already," said Keys. "I got stuff across the street.”
