SPRING HILL, Tenn. (WKRN) — A vote was held on Monday night to decide the fate of a connector road in Williamson County.
Spring Hill leaders voted in favor of a road connecting June Lake Boulevard to Spring Station Drive.
The road is proposed to be south of June Lake Boulevard, which is in just the opposite direction of where St. Jude’s dream home is located. Spring Hill Mayor Matt Fitterer said Monday night city officials were voting on the roadway's crosswalk sections, the curves, shoulders and how far the lanes can be.
Fitterer said the project was approved back in 2017, and the connector road is funded with private money, so Spring Hill residents get the benefit of the new road without having to pay for it.
"But having another connector size road is ultimately going to benefit both the residents of the area and anyone going to and from Williamson County Schools," Fitterer said.
The proposal for the road connector was approved by the Spring Hill Board of Aldermen. The annexation of the road will now head to BOMA.
