ROBERTSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Operation Shoulder to Shoulder and My Father’s House Car Show and Family Day, held on Armed Forces Day, May 17, 2025, at the Robertson County Fairgrounds in Springfield, Tennessee, was a resounding success. Despite inclement weather the night before, the event drew a substantial crowd, uniting the community in a heartfelt celebration of military service and family fun.

Hosted by My Father’s House Mission and led by event organizer Sheila Ann Byrd, the event exemplified the community’s commitment to honoring veterans and fostering family engagement.

The day commenced with a poignant military tribute ceremony featuring a gun salute, flag presentation, national anthem, and a salute to all military branches, including the Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, and Space Force. A highlight of the ceremony was the honoring of Mr. James R. Head, a 98-year-old World War II veteran from Greenbrier, recognized as the oldest living veteran in Robertson County. Attendees had the opportunity to meet Mr. Head and express their gratitude for his service.

The event offered a vibrant array of activities, including a car, truck, jeep, and motorcycle show, live music performances by Chris Monhollen, Suzette Boggs, and Steve Jerell, as well as food vendors and family-friendly entertainment. A special Kiddie Car category added to the excitement for younger attendees.

Hosted by My Father’s House Mission, the event exemplified the community’s commitment to honoring veterans and fostering family engagement. Organizers extend their heartfelt thanks to all who contributed to making the day memorable and impactful.
