SPRINGFIELD, Tenn. (WKRN) — Detectives are investigating two separate shootings in a Springfield neighborhood that occurred overnight within hours of each other.
According to the Springfield Police Department, the first incident was reported at 6:45 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of 21st Avenue East. Officers arrived to find a man who was shot during an altercation. He was transported to TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center, and later sent to TriStar Skyline Medical Center for treatment.
The shooting remains under investigation, however, officials said there is no ongoing threat to the public.
The second shooting occurred at approximately 3:23 a.m. Sunday in the 400 block of 21st Avenue West. Officers said a man with a gunshot wound was transported to TriStar Skyline Medical Center.
Officials said a suspect was arrested in connection with the incident. No additional information was released as the investigation continues.
