MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man accused of firing shots at a Murfreesboro bar after he was kicked out is now facing multiple charges, officials said.
The Murfreesboro Police Department said the incident took place shortly before 1 a.m. on Sunday, June 15 at MJ's Pool Hall along NW Broad Street.
Detectives reported a preliminary investigation shows that 48-year-old Ronnie Malone was kicked out of the bar by security after causing a disturbance with a bartender.
At some point, police said Malone fired several shots at the bar, which hit a man in the leg and shattered the glass door of the business. The shooting victim was reportedly treated and released from the hospital.
Meanwhile, authorities reported that Malone was taken into custody as he attempted to run away from the scene. He was charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of aggravated assault, one count of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and one count of employing a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony.
According to Murfreesboro police, Malone was booked into the Rutherford County Detention Center and is being held on a $950,000 bond.
Detectives with the Murfreesboro Criminal Investigations Unit are reportedly leading an investigation into the incident.
