Description

BUCKSNORT, Tenn. (WKRN) — In a Monday noon update, officials released a list of those killed in the explosion at a Bucksnort facility Friday.

On Friday, a deadly explosion was reported at Accurate Energetic Systems along the border of Hickman County and Humphreys County. Sixteen people were unaccounted for, and in a Saturday update, officials said they were "making the assumption that all are deceased."

Humphreys County Sheriff Chris Davis and Hickman County Sheriff Jason Craft read the full list of the 16 people killed in the blast, which is below:

Jason Adams
Eric Anderson
Billy Baker
Adam Boatman
Christopher Clark
Mindy Clifton
James Cook
Billy Dillian
Latisha Mays
Jeremy Moore
Melinda Rainey
Melissa Stanford
Trenton Stewart
Rachel Woodall
Steven Wright
Donald Yowell

Davis said officials wanted to reiterate that the investigation is still underway and no determination of cause has been publicly released. As such, Davis called for people to stop sharing what he called "fake news" on social media as agencies coordinate to get answers.

"We have one shot — one shot. If this is an accident, we want to prove it to ourselves that this is an accident," Davis said. "If this is something — not saying that it is or it is not — we only have that one shot to process that evidence and to be methodical."

Vigils have been held across Humphreys and Hickman Counties to honor those lost, and counselors are available at Humphreys County Schools to support students affected by the blast.
