Description

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) -- Students from Metro Nashville Public Schools have been presented with a fun challenge: read five books over the holidays and get a free ticket to "ICE!" -- with the theme of "A Charlie Brown Christmas" -- during the Gaylord Opryland Resort's 42nd annual "A Country Christmas" event.

Anchor Mark Kelly of News 2's "Good Morning Nashville" had a chance to read the classic holiday story to children at the Donelson library on Saturday, Nov. 1. Snoopy and Charlie Brown even showed up to say hi. The Bookmobile, filled with 2,000 books, rolled in, as well.

The goal of the "Cool Reader Program" is to promote literacy at an early age and reward that effort with a free ticket to see incredible ice sculptures at Gaylord Opryland on select dates between Nov. 7 and Jan. 3, 2026. The resort partnered up with the Nashville Public Library for the promotion, which is eligible to all MNPS children from PreK to eighth grade.

Gaylord Opryland is also donating "A Charlie Brown Christmas" books to 21 Nashville Public Library locations and 84 schools.
