NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A new report showed that drivers in Nashville have a higher chance of being in a car crash compared to the national average.
Allstate's 2025 Best Driver report found that drivers in Music City are 19.4% more likely to be involved in a car crash than the national average. The report gets its data from auto insurance claims to determine collision likelihood.
"It's a little chaotic," Nashville resident Jennifer Sunshine Kitsner told News 2. "The potholes don't help!"
"There's a lot more people driving. There's a lot more people here,” Nashville resident Tom Occhipinti added. "...I think there's a lot of people that are in a hurry and that makes it dangerous. The interstates are swelled up. The main roads are swelled … We're a very attractive city for people to move to."
The report also revealed that between 2015 and 2025, Nashville's drivers have gotten worse. A decade ago, the city was ranked 83 — but dropped to 107 this year. According to the American Automobile Association, the four leading contributors to injury crashes and fatalities are impaired driving, distracted driving, not wearing a seatbelt and speeding.
