MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) — Utilizing Guardian Shield license plate recognition technology, the Mt. Juliet Police Department arrested a man and recovered a motorcycle that had been reported stolen.
In a social media post, the MJPD said that the technology alerted officers that the motorcycle — which had been reported stolen out of Nashville on May 11 — was entering the city from Nashville along Central Pike.

Officers pursued a prevention plan and stopped the suspect, a 29-year-old Joelton man, before he was able to flee. Upon further investigation, the man reportedly had an indefinitely suspended license and had been wanted out of Smyrna on drug-related charges.
"We’re proud of our officers’ vigilance and grateful for the advanced technology that helps keep Mt. Juliet safe — so our community can focus on living well, while we focus on protecting it," the social media post reads, in part.
