MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) — Mt. Juliet police arrested a suspect wanted out of both Tennessee and Indiana and seized drugs "packaged for resale" from a second suspect during a Tuesday night traffic stop.
The MJPD said that officers conducted a traffic stop along Interstate 40 West Tuesday night for a missing headlight and an expired tag. A 51-year-old Nashville man in the vehicle was then found to be in possession of meth, fentanyl and crack cocaine "all packaged for resale" along with other drug paraphernalia.
The passenger — a 42-year-old Louisville, Kentucky man — also had drugs, the MJPD said, and tried to lie about his identity. Further investigation revealed that he had been wanted for shoplifting out of Nashville, Tennessee and auto theft in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
