NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man was arrested Tuesday night after he allegedly partook in hand-to-hand drug transactions and attempted to flee from police before crashing the vehicle he was driving.
According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, detectives with the TITANS Unit arrested 39-year-old Brandon Taylor in the area of Dickerson Pike.
Police said the detectives saw Taylor conduct drug transactions while inside a Kia K5.
When officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Avondale Circle, Taylor reportedly drove off at a high rate of speed before hitting a utility pole.
Taylor got out of the driver's seat of the vehicle and ran before he was arrested, officials said.
According to the MNPD, detectives found cocaine, marijuana and cash inside the vehicle. In addition, detectives said they also recovered a stolen handgun during the arrest.

Officials reported the handgun was taken in July during a vehicle burglary on 2nd Avenue South.
Taylor had outstanding warrants for theft of a firearm for reportedly stealing his girlfriend's gun in September 2024. The other charges were related to a December 2024 crash, according to the MNPD.
Police said Taylor is now also facing additional charges, including being a felon in possession of a weapon, weapon possession, felony and misdemeanor evading arrest, and drug possession.
Taylor remains jailed on a $61,500 bond, according to the MNPD.
