NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) -- A man is facing charges in connection with an East Nashville shooting that critically injured a coworker's boyfriend Wednesday night.
According to a Davidson County affidavit, the Department of Emergency Communications got a call about someone who was shot in the 1400 block of Lischey Avenue shortly after 9:15 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21.
When officers from the East Precinct arrived at the scene, they reportedly found the victim with a gunshot wound to his throat, so they rendered aid until medics arrived and took the victim to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he is in critical condition.
Based on the court document, the witnesses were at their home in the 1400 block of Lischey Avenue when a person they knew as "Chino" knocked on the door.
The suspect -- identified as 33-year-old Ta Hsi Noh -- was extremely intoxicated and claimed that his coworkers were trying to kill him, the Metro Nashville Police Department said, adding that they're all employed by a local greenhouse.
According to officials, because of how Noh was acting, a witness -- described as the victim's girlfriend -- called the victim over to her apartment, but while the victim was trying to talk Noh into leaving, the witnesses tried to close the door and heard at least three gunshots.
Per the affidavit, the suspect fled the scene, but after detectives learned his real name, they conducted a lineup, during which the victim's girlfriend identified Noh as the person she saw outside the door with the victim.
"Due to the victim and Ta Hsi Noh being the only people outside when the incident occurred, it was determined Ta Hsi Noh was the person responsible for shooting the victim," the court document states.
Authorities said Noh is being held in the Downtown Detention Center on a $125,000 bond for attempted criminal homicide and gun possession during the commission of a felony.
