BRENTWOOD, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man was arrested Sunday night after he allegedly stole a set of truck keys from a couple at a Brentwood restaurant and attempted to drive off.
According to court documents, a man and woman were seated at Waffle House in the 700 block of Old Hickory Boulevard when Tre'Sean Vaden, 20, approached them and asked if they would drive him to Mt. Juliet.
Vaden then allegedly grabbed the keys to the couple's Ford F150 and ran out to the parking lot. The couple chase Vaden outside and to the truck, where he had entered the driver's seat.
Reports said the woman opened the driver's side door and attempted to pull him out, while the man did the same from the passenger side. The couple told officers that Vaden got out of the vehicle and ran toward Old Hickory Boulevard and Interstate 65.
When officers arrived, Vaden was standing at the intersection of Old Hickory Boulevard and the I-65 ramp. However, when he saw officers, he ran into a wooded area. Authorities found Vaden at Holiday Inn on Franklin Pike Circle. He was identified by the Ford owner and taken into custody.
He was charged with felony attempted vehicle theft and booked into Metro jail on a $10,000 bond.
