HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Authorities have arrested a man for threatening a mass shooting at a Walmart in Hendersonville, officials said.
According to the Hendersonville Police Department, officers were alerted of anonymous threats of a mass shooting that had been sent to the Walmart located in the 200 block of N. Anderson Lane on Monday, June 23.
Hendersonville police reportedly worked alongside the Tennessee Office of Homeland Security to investigate the incident, which led them to identify 37-year-old Patrick Michael Ehringer as the person responsible for making the threats.
Officials said Ehringer's threats were related to a failed relationship and were intended to harass an employee at the store.
After being interviewing by detectives, the 37-year-old was charged with false reports. Booking records show Ehringer is being held in Sumner County Jail on a $200,000 bond. He is expected to appear in court on July 9.
Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call Hendersonville police at 615-264-5303 or Crime Stoppers at 615-594-4113.
No additional details were immediately released.
