NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) -- Following a pursuit involving a stolen vehicle Thursday night, Nashville authorities discovered a convicted felon, along with a sawed-off shotgun.
According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, detectives from the Violent Crimes Division spotted a 2019 Ram pickup truck speeding on Interstate 65, just before the Rosa L. Parks Boulevard exit, with its headlights off shortly after 8:15 p.m. on Thursday, July 17.
Officials said the detectives kept an eye on the vehicle until a police helicopter was overhead. Damarius Fite, 25, reportedly drove to the 1600 block of 22nd Avenue North, where he got out of the truck and was taken into custody.
Law enforcement said they recovered a sawed-off shotgun with an altered serial number from the vehicle, which had been reported stolen just after 12:15 a.m. on Thursday.

According to authorities, Fite -- who has previous convictions for aggravated assault, burglary, and theft -- is now charged with vehicle theft, reckless driving, possession of a firearm as a felon, driving on a suspended license, possession of drug paraphernalia, and alteration of the serial numbers on the shotgun. He is being held in the Downtown Detention Center on a $76,000 bond.
