NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — There are only a few more hours left to vote for the Metro Nashville Police Department's therapy dog Sgt. Bo in the Hero Dog Awards.
Sgt. Bo is a semifinalist in the annual online award by the American Humane Society in the therapy dog category.
Sgt. Bo retired from the MNPD along with his handler, Officer Faye Okert, in July. He was brought onto the force in January 2023 to serve as a school therapy dog. He and Okert would visit schools around Nashville offering trauma support and help de-escalate children in crisis, as well as offer comfort, according to AHS.

"We are so proud of Sgt. Bo and his continued service," the MNPD told News 2 last month when he was announced as a semifinalist.
According to MNPD, Sgt. Bo also assisted those affected by the Covenant School shooting in March 2023.
Voting is live until 4 p.m. Monday. You can vote for Sgt. Bo online here.
