DONELSON, Tenn. (WKRN) — A builder renovating a vacant house in Donelson has been forced to fight off persistent break-ins, with some of those incidents even being caught on camera.

Surveillance video from April 2 at about 10:36 p.m. showed a man lurking around a house in Donelson's Bluefields neighborhood.

"I feel like it's unusual," Wyatt Design Build co-owner Maddie Wyatt said. "I haven't experienced this much in this area of town, so I just wanted people to be aware of it."

Wyatt and her husband are working on a house in the area. They said the first suspect caught on camera broke a window and spent some time inside the house unlocking other windows. He was leaving in a white van — empty-handed — by the time Wyatt and her husband got there.

"He said he was trying to get gas or he ran out of gas and that he was going to the neighbors," Wyatt said.

Nearly a week later, another person was caught on camera on a bike. Wyatt said the second suspect got inside using a crowbar and stole plumbing pipes before pedaling off. A few minutes later, the couple spotted the suspect on Donelson Pike.

"My husband actually got out and was looking around and noticed that all our stuff was in a trash can and like behind a shed, so we got our stuff back," Wyatt said.

The Metro Nashville Police Department said they were investigating these cases. Wyatt hopes the suspects are caught soon.

"I hate it because I am building people's houses for them and it's supposed to feel good for my clients," Wyatt said. "This is so disruptive and it feels disgusting."
