HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Hendersonville police arrested a woman accused of prostitution, but the search is on for another man accused of working with her to steal a truck and boat trailer.
It all began on the evening of May 7 at Anchor Marina. Investigators with the Hendersonville Police Department said a man living on his boat hired a sex worker and agreed upon a price. However, authorities said something went awry with the price and the woman accused of prostitution — 46-year-old Kristy Tinin — stole the man's keys to a 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 4x4.
Authorities said that hours later, Tinin returned with 33-year-old Nicholas Haggstrom and started the man's truck — which was attached to a boat trailer — and drove away.
"Obviously, the guy that solicited her services was not super happy about the fact that he had to disclose the fact that he had just ordered a prostitute, but we were able to identify her," Lieutenant Chris Gagnon with the Hendersonville Police Department said.
Hendersonville police set up a sting operation to get the victim's truck back and they hired Tinen, who arrived at a Nashville motel.
"Ultimately after she was identified, we were able to set up a sting operation and bring her to a hotel local to Nashville and take her into custody under the ruse that we were ordering her services," Gagnon said.
Working with the Metro Nashville Police Department, Hendersonville police found the victim's truck near a greenway in Old Hickory. Unfortunately, the trailer is still missing; so too is Haggstrom.
Gagnon has a few words for him.
"Obviously, we know who you are," Gagnon said. "You're the one responsible for coming down and picking up the truck and we are ultimately going to find you, and it would make it a lot easier for both of us if you would just come and turn yourself in."
Tinin has been charged in connection with the theft of the truck and trailer. Hendersonville police said that more charges associated with the alleged act of prostitution are also probable. The man who reportedly hired Tinin could also face charges, authorities added.
Police have asked for the public's help finding Haggstrom. Anyone with any information has been asked to contact the Hendersonville Police Department. You can call their tipline at 615-594-4113 or submit tips online here.
